Artist Statement
Created as an act of personal survival after enduring 5 years of long covid and additional health issues, losing healthcare, the Epstein files triggering years of sexual assault once thought to be resolved with therapy, only to emerge in rage in a world that has gaslit women through out existence. The Pig is representative of the legislative male figures that have violated, trafficked, lied, aided in the death of, and silence women for their sexual pleasure and power and the struggle that victims endure long term through the development of chronic illness from heavy loads of toxic stress and abuse. This was the third in a series for me as an artist, reclaiming myself through finding an outlet for outrage and social commentary.
About the Artist
I am an interdisciplinary media artist and composer whose work bridges studio practice, digital and time-based media, public art, and therapeutic expressive arts. My practice is grounded in storytelling, cultural memory, political commentary and transpersonal inquiry, integrating sound, visual art, motion, and contemplative process. My work has been exhibited throughout North America, with audio and film projects receiving global radio and streaming play. My life is my autobiography, documented in art, sound, image, fibers, film, book and process. Contemplation and observation have been fundamental parts of my life. Opening to transcendent spiritual connection, I possess the ability to compose/arrange music and song, author books and create interdisciplinary media works of art that express what I see in the world.
