Artist Statement

"Daisies in the trash heap"

inspired by an original poem inspired by lyrics from a favorite song at the time. When this visual piece was finished, i realized this piece meant so much more than i had originally intended. It became a representation of myself. A reflection of absolute refusal to be erased.

Wether that be my self worth, autonomy, gender identity and/or mental well being. That with all thats handed to me from my insecurities, society, relationships, or our government- i will continue to grow, thrive, and be this resilient being. The daisies growing from discarded ephemera became a radical reclamation of self worth. And i only hope that through all of the literal and metaphorical garbage we go through , we can all bloom into something beautiful.
